The following review was written by John Sharisky, about the discontinued Danbury Mint 1942 Chrysler Black w/ Wood Town & Country Station Wagon.

As a new kind of station wagon, the first Town & Country was built at the behest of then Chrysler president David Wallace for 1941. DM has chosen to replicate one of just 849 nine-passenger versions built in 1942. This impressive model is comprised of over 375 parts. Black with red wheels and interior, the inner side (and trunk lid) panels are made of real wood with grained plastic outline panels and roof rack. The chrome is smooth and the front and rear Chrysler emblems deserve special attention.

The engine is fully detailed, as is the chassis. Front and rear suspensions are accurate, working features (working rear shock absorbers!). The interior is very interesting. The dashboard gauges are behind glass next to the "jukebox" radio. The dash and steering wheel have a "marbled" type of finish. The highlight of the interior has to be the accurately working (folding) middle seat. Very clever.

The trunk doors open in the correct barrel-vault style on accurate hinges, as have the rear doors, which contain sliding window sections. Small details seem to pop out at you each time you look, such as the dome light switches on the b-pillars and the well-detailed sun visors. All together, a charming, well-built, well-engineered, well-detailed five ***** accomplishment by DM.
