AUTOart '07/'08 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Another Lamborghini Gallardo release by AUTOart, this Superleggera or super light version in Borealis Metallic Orange is very striking to say the least. I wasn't too familiar with the Gallardo prior to receiving this sample, but in my research, I found it quite interesting that this particular color was the most popular choice for the Superleggera, representing 46 of 172 Superleggera produced when production ended in March 2008. This vibrant orange with contrasting carbon fiber and black graphics makes for a very sporty super car indeed. In fact it is the carbon fiber features that help to differentiate the Superleggera from the standard Gallardo. The subdued dark gray multi spoke wheels are attached to a static suspension and give the Gallardo the appropriate aggressive stance.
The model is part of AUTOart's Performance series, and arrives mounted to a plastic base with window box. The model features an opening trunk, doors, and see through engine cover that lifts with the rear wing. The interior is well replicated with an exterior body color matching graphic on the seats. The doors of the Gallardo open horizontally unlike other Lamborghini models that feature the vertical opening doors.
The model looks great overall, and AUTOart has captured the look and stance of the Gallardo with their customary level of accuracy. The engine features the standard Lamborghini scripted valve covers and the carpeted trunk without spare, but I'm not sure if the 1:1 car even comes with a spare given that this is a super light version.
The Superleggera release is also available in metallic gray (Gregio Telesto), yellow (Giallo Midas ), and white (Monocerus).
