AIRCRAFT
The Junkers dive-bomber rained terror on cities and battlefields alike. It would destroy its target using 500-lb bombs or rip them apart using wing mounted 37mm flak guns. It was formidable ingredient in the Blitzkrieg strategy. The “Stuka” was used for both precision tactical bombing and strafing of enemy positions, acting as a sort of "airborne artillery" that kept up with the fast-moving tanks and attack defended points long before traditional artillery could be brought into range. Later in the war it was fitted with a large cannon and employed in a "tank busting" role against Soviet positions. As a night fighter, it played an important role in the defense of Germany.

Ju 52s delivered the attacking forces and their supplies during the German invasion of Norway, Denmark, France, and the Low Countries in 1940. Ju 52s participated in the historic airborne assault on the island of Crete in May 1941 and later supplied Rommel's panzerwaffe operating in North Africa. This model is based on a JU-52 of the Armee de L'Air and flown by the AAC. 1 Toucan.
