This is really a beautiful car and it really does a nice job of capturing the "spit & polish" that is such a part of Penske racing.
I was lucky enough to attend the 1984 Indy 500 and saw Rick Mears win in this car and this model brings back a lot of memories of that race.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best Indycar model Carousel 1 has ever made..... it's really nicely done! The composite driver's tub looks very convincing. The engine is quite detailed with the oil and water plumbing all included. Nice cockpit with fabric driver restraint system. If you look closely, you can even see the miniscule spring that controls the boost control pop-off valve.
The top part of the body is one-piece (I remember the engine cover being separate from the rest of the body pieces, I think) and held firmly in-place with some strong magnets. For those of you prone to losing things (like myself), there's an extra set of rearview mirrors in case you lose one.
All-in-all, a very nice car and one any Indycar/CART fan would have to have.
