Rudolph Caracciola drove this Mercedes-Benz SSKL # 8 to victory in the 1931 Grand Prix of Germany at the Nürburgring. Only six of the 300 horsepower “White Elephants” were produced by Mercedes-Benz. The SSKL was a lightweight version of the SSK. Any unnecessary equipment was removed from the Grand Prix race car, including headlights, fenders, one spare tire, and the top. This model is limited to 4,000 pieces worldwide.
