1956 Corvette Convertible

In limited edition form, this model revisits FM’s Cascade Green ’56 Corvette roadster. This is its first repaint. If you are looking for a “today’s tech” model, this will not be it. This product has its roots entrenched in 1991 technology, no better, no worse. If you want scissors hood hinges, internal door hinges and all the gizmos, bells and whistles of a model that is up to today’s standards, again, this would not be it. So why would anyone even consider buying this little guy? I won’t even address that it is a limited edition. That doesn’t seem to be as rare as it once was. And no, it was not one of FM’s cutting edge break-out models that is still cool revisited and revised today. But what it is, is a Corvette. It is a lovely rendition of a perfectly shaped, proportioned and accurate depiction of the car’s actual image. In Polo White, it is reminiscent of the first Corvette and looks extremely nice on this body style. The color is greatly enhanced by the interior color choice along with the silver coves for added interest.

The replica is what it is, an image. It is what a precision model was back in the day. Not as detail-filled as what we might expect for that, this-is-my-favorite-model, model. But it is a faithful representation of what a Corvette image should look like in perfect stance and overall harmony to the 1:1 article. The issue price is $115.
