Franklin Mint 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 LE 2500

TFM has made four previous 1970 Mustangs before this one. We've been treated to their first offering in 1998, a Mach 1 Cobra Jet 428 in Grabber Orange. They followed up with a Mustang Boss 429 in 2003 and then revisions of each. To my eye this one in Boss garb in this color is, well, grabbing.

All the right details are there, the small spare in the trunk next to the cabled battery, nice interior detailing including wood trim and rich dash, seat and console appointments.

The chassis detailing is nicely carried out in these Mustangs and FM continues to render good engine wiring and plumbing. The suspension works and I have to believe the Mint tweaked it a little because the stance is just right on my example. Overall, with hood scoope, louvered rear window shade, raised white letter tires and awesome chrome metal foiled lettering, the model is captivating.
