Franklin Mint 1965 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide w/Side Car

FM's official ad for the new Harley states, "A legend as soon as it hit the road, the world-premiere Electra Glide® was powered by the last of the Panhead engines. It was also the first Harley® with a 12-volt electric starter system, making full-body stomps on the kick-start lever a thing of the past. OHV Panhead engine, and gauge and instrument cluster on the fuel tank. Complete with sidecar, equipped with spare and scale-sized helmet included."

This is my first 1965 Harley. Talk about your classics! FM recreated a beauty; from it's hand shift with perfect miniature linkage to the finely executed wire wheels and tire pattern, they crafted a cool bike. The addition of the side car is a bonus when you display it next to any other FM motorcycle of like scale. The side car's windshield and front cover folds forward for ease of entry, tethered from inside, and the bike's seat can be moved forward allowing a great view of more detail work.

The paint finish is excellent and the fit of all parts is amazingly well done. All the lines and wires, the linkage and cabling are flawlessly crafted. The metal-foiled scripts are beautifully carried out. The gauges are easily read and all materials lend an air of authenticity to the bike. I like the color combo and overall look of the unit with side car in place.
