By now you know we've chronicled a veritable herd of Franklin Mint C5's and C6's. They're the best in the precision 1:24th field. TFM has also sought out the rarer and lesser known species of 1:1 Corvettes to model. This is such an animal. Corvette produced the limited edition ZHZ especially for Hertz Car Rental. They produced it in the company's traditional yellow and black, equipped it nicely with the LS3 436-horse engine, the Magnetic Selective Ride Control option, bigger brakes and cross-drilled rotors, Goodyear Eagle Supercar tires and special seven-spoke wheels. They enhanced the package with special badgings and a rear spoiler. The car will join Hertz’s “Fun Collection” for rent and Corvette made the car with a paddle shift, six-speed auto trans to aid in the fun and excitement.
TFM did their usual due diligence in getting the options right on the diecast C6; the 18 inch wheels up front with slightly larger 19’s in back. The chrome metal-foiled badges are excellent. Corvette’s crossed-flag insignias are found fore and aft and the special, “ZHZ” moniker is located on the front fenders. Adding to the accurate realism are simulated mesh air grates in the fender vents and grill inset. You’ll love the delicate handiwork of the door sills; “Corvette” spelled out in photo-etch metal. The Mint also added the proper, “ZHZ” markings to the center console and floor mats.
You’ll find the “Hertz” license plate, in company colors, affixed to the back of the car and a check of the engine will certainly delight any Vette or muscle car fan. Franklin did such a masterful job with the stickers you could read what actual customers can if you have enough magnification. The battery is superb with its informational sticker and cable ends, the oil dipstick top, in yellow, is readily seen and the use of metal wire and tubing is detail-rich. The suspension works and the overall stance and fidelity to the 1:1 are spot on.
Another great job by TFM on this C6.
