Franklin has now made a handful of 1977 Pontiac Trans Am models in 1:24th scale. Initially made for their “Diecast Club”, the first was issued in 2002, in red. They followed up with a black “Smokey & the Bandit” version then a police-liveried bandit-buster.
For 2010, they refreshed the image with two highly limited iterations, one white with blue graphics and interior and the other yellow with black interior and black & orange hood graphic. Each is limited in numbered quantities of 250 pieces.
These Trans Am replicas are really nice. First and foremost, they exhibit the fidelity to the overall 1:1 image very well. They have the removable roof panels, this time in clear for both diecasts. The suspension is functional, the seats and interior detail is good and so is the chassis. Engine details include the prerequisite wiring and plumbing and the exterior insignias and graphics are crisp. The white-lettered tires look great surrounding those magnificent wheels. And the stance of the car is spot on.
At only 250 units these jewels won’t last too long so contact Legacy for yours.
