If you ordered a new 1998 Corvette, you encountered a dozen color choices. If you selected code #58U Aztec Gold, you wound up with one of 15 such cars produced by Chevrolet that year. Make it a convertible in that color and it became one of only three!

D4C Club President Jay Olins, worked long and hard to bring a Limited Edition Club Car model to fruition. With the help of Club members, Aztec Gold was chosen for the diecast. Later, members lobbied hard for the Light Oak interior to go with the Gold exterior. It would be the perfect compliment to the rare replica. No more fitting model could have been chosen to represent the very first Diecast Car Collectors Club's own Limited Edition. Made by The Franklin Mint in a production run of only 750 pieces, the diecast joins a distinguished group of the most prestigious Limited Editions they have ever made.

Instantly striking is the color. The paint has been applied as if by a jeweler working in 24-karat gold. Looking rich, thick and preciously wet, it sets an exciting mood. The eclectic blend of oaken interior and its golden body finish lends an instantly warm feeling to this model. Identical, except for color, to FM's silver 1998 convertible replica, the hard boot lifts to display the simulated folded top. But lift the trunk lid and you are greeted with the brass plate exclaiming, "1999 D4C Limited Edition, One of 750". As with the FM 1997 Corvette the fit of each functioning part; doors, hood, flip-up lights, boot and trunk lid, is precision engineered like the best 1:1. Even the separate 'up top' fit is flawless. The seatbacks tilt forward and the open driver's door reveals the three manufacturers stickers affixed the its rear edge as in the previous Corvette iterations. On some of the prior 1997 and 1998 Corvette models, the rear differential half-shafts were missing. They are indeed included on this later product. Also, some '97 and '98's had a CD conspicuously sticking from the radio's insertion point. Here too, it's included. The same wonderful detail as on previous '97 and '98 Corvette's, is evident when you 'pop' the hood. TFM's model-makers have crafted another work of art. Destined, I believe, to be revered for years to come, this first Club Car is more than just a limited edition. It is an alluring diecast automobile worth its weight in gold. DISCONTINUED 12/31/1999.
