1987 Ferrari F40 Red 1:18
The 1987 Ferrari F40 in Red was Ferrari’s ultimate road-going performance statement of the 1980s and the last Ferrari personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. Its 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 produced approximately 471 hp, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and giving the lightweight supercar a claimed top speed of around 200 mph. What made the F40 truly unique was its race-inspired construction, using carbon fiber, Kevlar, and other lightweight composites over a tubular-steel chassis, along with a stripped-down interior, enormous rear wing, and virtually no luxury equipment. At the time, it became the first production car to officially break the 200-mph barrier, making the unmistakable red F40 a defining icon of Ferrari performance and one of the most influential supercars of its generation.
