🟩 Fernando Alonso (#14)
Alonso’s season has been a study in frustration and perseverance. Despite Aston Martin introducing upgrades like a new floor, front wing, and aerodynamic tweaks, the AMR25 still lagged in race pace—he went scoreless in the first eight rounds. His candid feedback ranged from admiring improvements in classification to admitting “pushing at this level is not sustainable” in races like Jeddah. Alonso praised the qualifying performance but stressed race-day deficits, naming low-speed pace and efficiency as Achilles’ heels. With design legend Adrian Newey already working on 2026, Alonso has accepted that 2025 will likely be a development year—but he continues to push the team, calling for fresh strategies ahead of the regulatory reset
🟫 Lance Stroll (#18)
Stroll has met the season’s challenge head-on, claiming all of Aston Martin’s points so far finishing in the top 10 in Australia and China with strong, strategic drives. His performance has caught the eye of technical staff; even Adrian Newey reportedly praised his energy and work ethic on the team radio during testing. Stroll himself has been brutally honest about the AMR25's weaknesses—calling it a car “with no strengths” despite clearly extracting its best in certain conditions—showcasing resilience in tougher machinery.
⚙️ What Makes Their Season Unique
Aston Martin’s 2025 season is a tale of two narratives: Alonso’s relentless pursuit of validation in a flawed car, and Stroll’s steady capitalizing on its occasional strengths. Amid early-season upgrades and internal technical shifts, their contrasting journeys—veteran grit from Alonso, pragmatic progress from Stroll—have brought resilience and insight to Aston Martin’s rebuild year ahead of a major 2026 reset.
