Talbot-Lago Coupé Type 150 SS Figoni & Falaschi "Teardrop", 1937-39
The Talbot-Lago with the French from the famous tin cutters Figoni & Falaschi body is made an appearance like from another planet. The car is simply what we would today call "state often the art". As Talbot 1937 on the Paris Motor Show unveiled the coupe, the viewers were immediately placed in almost breathless enthusiasm. Soon, the terms "goutte d'eau" (water droplets) and "teardrop coupe" (tears coupe) were created, both of which were never officially used, but the unusual shape aptly given the right words. Everything about this fascinating vehicle and every detail is evidence of deep love for shaping and matching accessories. Each line, each bar supports the action without appearing pushy. This car is a harmonious whole - from the narrow front wings to the chrome exhaust tail. Add to that a luxuriously furnished interior with artistic processing of fine wood and noble leather.
