History and Design
  • Chassis: Built on a Fiat Tipo 642 RN2 "Alpine" bus frame with a distinctive "Baffo" cab.
  • Dimensions: Measured over 9 meters long and nearly 3 meters high.
  • Engine: Powered by a 6.65-liter, 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine producing 92 horsepower, giving it a top speed of about 85 km/h.
  • Capacity: Designed to haul up to three race cars, spare parts, tools, and a crew of seven.
  • Features: Included an integrated workshop, fuel tank, and sleeping berths for the race mechanics during hectic European race weekends.
  • Usage: Famously used by the factory racing teams of Maserati and Ferrari, as well as privateers like Lotus and Shelby


CMC is expanding into the 1:64 scale diecast market with their first miniature race car hauler: the Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti Ferrari Transporter in both Ferrari and Maserati liveries. Expected to feature over 250 parts, working suspension, and opening doors, this miniature is slated for release in late 2026
