This is the 1956 Lancia D50 First grey wear prototype, with removable engine cover in 1:12 scale by GP Replicas.
The 1956 Lancia D50 was a revolutionary Formula One car that stood apart from its rivals through its radical engineering and design. Most notably, it featured pannier-style side-mounted fuel tanks instead of a conventional rear tank, which lowered the car’s center of gravity and improved weight distribution for sharper handling—a groundbreaking concept in the mid-1950s. Powered by a 2.5-liter V8 producing around 260 horsepower, the D50 combined raw speed with innovative aerodynamics and a compact, lightweight chassis. After Lancia withdrew from racing, Ferrari inherited the project, and the D50’s advanced design became the foundation for Ferrari’s first F1 World Championship in 1956, solidifying its legacy as one of the most innovative and influential Grand Prix cars of its era.
This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
