This is the BMW 528i (E28) 24h Spa, 1982 #27 A. Cudini / H. Regout / A. Peltier in 1:18 scale by IXO.
The BMW 528i (E28) was a competitive touring-car variant of BMW’s mid-size sedan, powered by a robust 2.8 L inline-six engine and campaigned successfully in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC). In the 1982 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, chassis #27 entered by W.M. Racing Gitanes was driven by Alain Cudini, Hervé Regout, and Alain Peltier on the demanding 6.976 km Belgian circuit; the crew brought the car home in a very respectable 5th overall and 5th in its Division 3 class after 437 laps of relentless night and day racing. This edition of the Spa 24 Hours stood out for the strong showing by BMW 528i sedans, with multiple similar cars finishing near the front of the pack and showcasing how a well-prepared production-based touring car could challenge more specialized rivals over a full day of endurance action.
This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. These diecast
models are exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Interior detail is hand assembled and easily
visible. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used for a most
authentic replication.
