The #77 Ford Mustang GT3 Proton Competition competed in the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by American racer Ryan Hardwick, Canadian GT specialist Zacharie Robichon, and British driver Ben Barker. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter Coyote-derived V8, the Mustang brought classic American muscle-car character to the international LMGT3 field, with its front-engine layout, rear-wheel drive, aggressive aerodynamics, and unmistakable V8 soundtrack. The #77 completed 227 laps and finished 46th overall, 17th in the LMGT3 class, after a challenging race at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe. As one of Ford’s new-generation Mustang GT3 racers making its Le Mans debut season, it represents an important chapter in the Mustang’s transition from road-going American performance icon to modern international endurance competitor.
