The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) No. 96 of Rutronik Racing, driven by Alessio Picariello, Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser, delivered an outstanding second-place finish at the 2025 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, just 8.7 seconds behind the winning Lamborghini after starting 15th. Picariello, a Belgian Porsche driver with extensive GT and endurance experience, shared the car with German Sven Müller and Swiss Patric Niederhauser, with the trio leading the race during the final morning. The 992 GT3 R is a purpose-built GT3 racer based on the 911, featuring a 4.2-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, rear-wheel drive, a sequential racing gearbox and sophisticated aerodynamic bodywork including a large rear wing and front splitter. Its combination of Porsche’s rear-engine layout, endurance durability and race-developed aerodynamics makes the GT3 R particularly distinctive among modern GT3 competitors, while the #96’s charge from 15th to second made it one of the standout performances of the Spa 24 Hours.
