1973 Aston Martin DBS Banham Cabriolet Blue Metallic 1:43

loading...

The 1973 Aston Martin DBS Banham Cabriolet is an exceptionally rare custom conversion that combines the elegant, fastback styling of the DBS with the open-air character Aston Martin itself did not offer at the time. The original DBS/V8 was sold only as a fixed-roof car during this period, so coachbuilder Paul Banham and Banham Conversions created limited numbers of bespoke cabriolets for private customers. The 1973 cars were based on the newly renamed Aston Martin V8, powered by the formidable 5.3-liter V8 producing around 320 bhp and capable of approximately 160 mph. What makes the Banham particularly distinctive is that it provided a convertible alternative several years before Aston Martin introduced its factory-built V8 Volante in 1978. With its hand-converted soft top, muscular V8 performance, and extreme rarity, the Banham Cabriolet is a fascinating example of British coachbuilding ingenuity.
