1964 De Tomaso Shelby P70 Can Am UK Collector Red 1:18

The 1964 De Tomaso Shelby P70 Can-Am is one of the most fascinating “what-if” racers of the 1960s, created through a collaboration between Carroll Shelby, Alejandro de Tomaso, and designer Peter Brock as a potential successor to Shelby’s King Cobra. Its lightweight mid-engine backbone chassis was wrapped in an exceptionally low aluminum body built by Fantuzzi, featuring covered headlights, enclosed rear wheels, and an innovative adjustable rear wing designed to generate downforce. The P70 was intended to receive a specially developed 7.0-liter Ford V8 to challenge the emerging Can-Am giants, but when that engine failed to materialize, the project was abandoned after only one completed car. Its Italian-American engineering, futuristic aerodynamics, and extreme rarity make the P70 unlike virtually any other race car of its era.

This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
