The 1975 Opel Ascona B was a stylish and practical German mid-size car introduced by Opel as the second generation of the Ascona series. Available as a two-door or four-door sedan, it featured clean European styling, a comfortable interior, and a range of four-cylinder engines offering a balance of performance and fuel economy. What set the Ascona B apart from many competitors was its remarkable versatility, serving equally well as a dependable family car and a capable foundation for motorsport. Its greatest claim to fame came in rallying, where the high-performance Ascona 400 later achieved international success, including Walter Röhrl’s victory in the 1982 World Rally Championship. Combining everyday practicality with genuine sporting potential, the Ascona B became an important model in Opel’s automotive history.
