The image above showcases the 2024 Honda Civic Type R Mugen “Group B” concept—a wild and focused transformation of the standard FL5 Type R designed by Honda’s in-house tuner, Mugen. This is not a production model yet, but a pre-production concept unveiled for the Tokyo Auto Salon. It features complete carbon-fiber aero—including a vented hood, massive splitter, louvered front fenders, aggressive side skirts, and a prominent rear wing—dramatically enhancing both form and function. The package aims to triple the Type R’s downforce and reduce weight by around 38 kg, all while maintaining its raw hot-hatch soul.
This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
