The 1985 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV (Quattrovalvole) represented the ultimate evolution of Lamborghini’s original Countach formula, combining Marcello Gandini’s dramatic wedge-shaped design with a newly enlarged 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V12 featuring four valves per cylinder. European-specification cars produced an impressive 455 horsepower through six Weber downdraft carburetors, making the QV one of the most powerful road cars of its era. What made the 5000 QV particularly distinctive was its mid-engine layout, iconic scissor doors, enormous side air intakes, flared bodywork, and raised engine cover required to accommodate the downdraft carburetors. Produced from 1985 to 1988, with roughly 610 examples, the QV became an enduring symbol of 1980s supercar excess and remains one of the most recognizable Countach versions.
