This is the Lancia 037 Rally No.9 Winner Tour de Corse 1983 Alén/Kivimäki in 1:18 scale by Spark.
The Lancia 037 Rally No. 9 of Martini Racing won the 1983 Tour de Corse, driven by Finnish rally star Markku Alén with co-driver Ilkka Kivimäki. Alén was one of Lancia’s leading Group B drivers, celebrated for his aggressive yet precise style, while Kivimäki was his longtime and highly experienced co-driver. The 037 was distinctive as a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive Group B rally car competing against the increasingly dominant four-wheel-drive Audi Quattro. Its lightweight tubular-steel chassis, Kevlar bodywork, and 2.0-liter supercharged four-cylinder engine producing about 300 hp gave it exceptional agility on Corsica’s twisting asphalt roads. Alén and the No. 9 prevailed by just 1 minute 49 seconds, helping demonstrate that Lancia’s lighter, more nimble 037 could still defeat the technologically advanced Quattro.
Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Polished to a beautiful finish Exceptionally
accurate scale and shape. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand
cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing
and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible.
