The Porsche 911 (991) GT3 R #912, entered by Manthey Racing, won the 2018 Nürburgring 24 Hours with drivers Richard Lietz, Patrick Pilet, Frédéric Makowiecki, and Nick Tandy. Lietz is an accomplished Austrian Porsche factory driver, Pilet a successful French endurance racer, Makowiecki a highly skilled French GT specialist, and Tandy a British driver who also won the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans overall. Their Porsche overcame an early puncture and a time penalty before Makowiecki made a decisive pass in heavy rain during the closing stages, securing Porsche’s first Nürburgring 24-hour victory since 2011. The #912 is distinguished by its white-and-green Manthey Racing livery, rear-engine layout, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, and endurance-focused aerodynamics—features that helped it conquer the demanding Nordschleife in treacherous weather.
