Redman was one of the era’s premier endurance racers, while Mendez and Garretson were highly capable American sports-car competitors who helped deliver a hard-fought overall victory. The 935 was Porsche’s radical Group 5 silhouette racer, based on the 911 Turbo but extensively modified with widened bodywork, advanced aerodynamics, and a 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six.
