The 1983 Porsche 956 No. 21, entered by Porsche Kremer Racing, secured an impressive third-place overall finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Driven by American racing legends Mario Andretti and his son Michael Andretti, alongside talented French driver Philippe Alliot, the Porsche completed 364 laps in one of the most competitive endurance races of the decade. Its 2.65-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine delivered tremendous power, while its revolutionary ground-effect aerodynamics provided exceptional downforce and high-speed stability. This particular entry was especially memorable because it brought together Mario and Michael Andretti as father and son on the Le Mans podium, sharing the achievement with Alliot. Chassis 956-101 became part of Porsche Kremer Racing history and helped reinforce the Porsche 956's dominance of international Group C endurance racing.
