The 1989 Ferrari F40 LM is the competition-bred evolution of Ferrari's legendary F40, developed by Michelotto for serious circuit racing. Compared with the road car, the LM received extensive weight reduction, strengthened suspension, larger brakes, race-focused aerodynamics, and a highly developed 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing well over 700 horsepower, depending on specification and boost. Its enormous rear wing, deep front splitter, racing wheels, and stripped-down cockpit transformed the F40 into a genuine endurance and GT racing machine. What sets the F40 LM apart from its competition is its combination of extreme power-to-weight ratio, raw turbocharged performance, and unmistakable F40 styling, while its very limited production makes it one of the rarest and most desirable Ferrari racing derivatives ever built.
