At the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona, Magnus Racing marked its “final hurrah—for now”—with the #44 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, competing in the GTD class in honor of the team's 15-(ish) year legacy at the event. The car retained its cherished driver lineup—John Potter, Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly, and AMR works ace Nicki Thiim—bringing experience and history to the wheel. What set this race apart was its emotional weight: it was not just another Daytona, but the end of an era, as Lally retired from full-time racing and the team prepared to pause operations, ending a storied IMSA chapter. Unfortunately, their run was cut short by mechanical failure—an engine issue brought them out after just 170 laps—adding bittersweet finality to their long and celebrated tenure.
