The 2026 Ford Mustang GT3 EVO No. 64, fielded by Ford Racing (Ford Multimatic Motorsports), competed in the GTD PRO class at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Driven by Norwegian racer Dennis Olsen, British driver Ben Barker, and German endurance racing champion Mike Rockenfeller, the Mustang showcased Ford's latest GT3 Evolution package. Under its aggressive racing bodywork sits a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter Coyote V8 engine, delivering approximately 550 horsepower through a six-speed sequential transmission. The 2026 EVO updates include refined aerodynamics and performance improvements designed to enhance handling, tire management, and consistency during long-distance competition. Unfortunately, the No. 64's Daytona campaign ended prematurely after 580 laps when an oil-pressure problem led to engine failure. Despite the disappointment, this Mustang represents Ford's determination to defend its GT racing heritage against the world's leading manufacturers.
