The Williams FW14 Renault #5, driven by Nigel Mansell during the 1991 Formula 1 season, was one of the most technologically advanced racing cars of its era. Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter Renault V10 engine, the FW14 featured sophisticated aerodynamics, a semi-automatic gearbox, and an innovative suspension design that helped establish Williams as a dominant force in Formula 1. Mansell finished second at the 1991 Monaco Grand Prix, behind Ayrton Senna, after a fiercely competitive race around the tight, unforgiving street circuit. Although Mansell narrowly missed the 1991 Drivers’ Championship, the FW14 laid the groundwork for Williams’ remarkable success the following year, when Mansell became Formula 1 World Champion in the improved FW14B.
